AI Usage & Voice Rights Protection Policy

This policy sets out our rights, limitations, and protections regarding the use, reproduction, or modification of our voices, likenesses, and performances in connection with artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, or synthetic media. It ensures that these are used ethically, transparently, and only with explicit written consent.

The Client acknowledges that no rights are granted to replicate, simulate, or generate the Artist’s voice using artificial intelligence or similar technologies without prior written consent. Any unauthorised AI use constitutes a breach of contract and infringement of the Artist’s intellectual property and moral rights.

1: Ownership & Rights

1.1: The Artist retains full **copyright, moral rights, and neighbouring rights** in all vocal performances and recordings.

1.2: Unless explicitly agreed in writing, the Client may **not**:

* Digitally clone, synthesise, or simulate the Artist’s voice using AI or machine learning;

* Use recordings to train AI models or voice synthesis tools;

* Create derivative works or soundalike performances generated by AI.

Note: Under UK and Irish law, the Artist automatically retains copyright in their recordings unless specifically assigned in a written contract.

2; Consent & Authorisation Requirements

2.1; Any AI-related use of the Artist’s recordings **requires prior written consent**, including:

* Training AI models;

* Generating synthetic or modified versions of the Artist’s voice;

* Allowing third parties to use AI to replicate the Artist’s performance.

2.2; Written consent must specify:

* Scope and duration of the AI use;

* Any payment or royalty arrangements;

* Process for revocation if terms are breached.

3: Prohibited Uses

Without explicit written consent, the Client may **not**:

* Employ the Artist’s voice in generative AI, chatbots, or automated systems;

* Use recordings to train AI text-to-speech models;

* Generate synthetic audio mimicking the Artist;

* Represent AI-generated content as a genuine performance by the Artist.

4: Attribution & Transparency

Where consent is granted, the Client must:

* Disclose to end users that AI was involved;

* Credit the Artist as the original performer;

* Avoid misleading audiences about what is human-performed vs AI-generated.

5: Compensation & Residuals

Any AI-related use beyond the original engagement is subject to **additional compensation**, which may include:

* Licensing fees for AI replication or model training;

* Royalties for ongoing use;

* Penalties for unauthorised use.

6: Data Protection & Security

The Client must:

* Store recordings securely and limit access;

* Not upload recordings to AI training platforms or cloud systems without consent;

* Ensure any processing complies with the UK GDPR or Irish Data Protection Act 2018 where relevant.

7: Remedies & Enforcement

Unauthorised AI use constitutes a **material breach** and may result in:

* Termination of the agreement;

* Compensation for damages under UK/Irish law;

* Injunctive relief to prevent further misuse.

8: Survival of Rights

AI protections survive the end of the engagement and apply indefinitely to recordings or derived data,

9: Governing Law

This policy is governed by the law of England & Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, or Ireland, as specified in the main agreement. Disputes shall be resolved in the relevant courts.
